Welcome to August.

In the spirit of this holiday weekend, here’s a powerful thought you can ponder while hiking in the woods, walking on the beach, or gazing into a camp fire.

“When you dream BIG your problems become small.”

Vishen Lakhiani shared this idea at Mindvalley University in a talk about how to be “Superhuman at Work.” And he expanded on it with this quote by Naveen Jain:

“When you do something audacious, it becomes easier.
Because you get the best people to join you.
The problem you’re solving is worth solving!
You have the magnets. And you get the money.
Because then investors call…
and you tell all of them you don’t need their money.
Now like a bull they charge!
So sell the benefit to humanity.”

Whether it’s an entrepreneurial vision involving investors or some other mission, the same rule can apply to YOUR intention …

What could you envision in a bigger, bolder, and audacious way so the right people, timing, and resources line up to make it EASIER to bring it to fruition?

How can you expand your vision of what’s possible?

Generate excitement about what you’re creating?

Sell the benefit to humanity?

Here’s a perfect example.

I was recently asked to give a video testimonial about my role in supporting a visionary not-for-profit organization called “Haiti Open University,” which provides college courses to disadvantaged Haitian students.

I got involved with the project a few years ago (then called Haitian School Without Borders) when I met the founder, Bathelemy Bolivar. I was so moved by his vision to create an online education platform to support high school students in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake devastated the country and many of its schools, that I helped write some of the early modules (in English) for the program. I also featured Bathelemy Bolivar’s extraordinary story and his visionary project in my book Creating the Impossible.

Today, Haiti Open University is up and running and provides 15 courses in business, engineering, and continuing education to help young Haitians make it to college. Now that’s a benefit a humanity you get can people to rally behind!

Maybe your dream doesn’t seem as big, visionary, or even possible to achieve … but it could be!

When you dream big, your problems become small.
